After graduating in chemistry, John followed a career at Shell, mainly personnel roles. After taking early retirement in 1990 he studied and took up counselling as a second career, followed up with a qualification in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
Formerly he treated clients at the Kaleidoscope Drugs Centre in Kingston and worked with Kingston Friends Mediation . He now works from home in private practice.
He is married with three children, and six grandchildren. He plays the violin with Kingston Philharmonia and runs in a ceilidh band. John also enjoys golf, bridge and gardening.
John studied counselling at the Central School of Counselling and Therapy and at Kensington Consultation Centre (both individual and family courses). His diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy was awarded by Uncommon Knowledge. He regularly attends training courses, reads widely about therapy and hypnotherapy and has access to a trained supervisor when required.
John is a member of the Hypnotherapy Association, a Human Givens Institute member, a member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and a Practioner Member of the National Smoking Cessation Institute. He can also be found on www.hypnotherapyregister.com
